Refund Policy
Last updated: June 10, 2026
This policy is designed to be transparent for families and compatible with payment processing through Polar.
1. Overview
This Refund Policy explains how refunds and subscription cancellations work for SmartKid, also referred to as Smart Kid.
We want families to feel confident trying SmartKid. If the service is not a good fit, please contact us and we will review your request fairly.
2. 14-day refund window
You may request a refund within 14 days of your initial purchase or subscription renewal by contacting support@smartkid.com.
Refunds are reviewed case by case. Depending on the circumstances, we may issue a full refund, a partial refund, or decline a refund request when the request falls outside this policy or appears abusive, fraudulent, or inconsistent with fair use.
3. Subscription cancellations
You may cancel your subscription at any time. After cancellation, you will continue to have access to paid SmartKid features until the end of your current paid billing period. Your subscription will not renew, and no further subscription charges will be made unless you resubscribe.
Canceling a subscription does not automatically create a refund.
4. How to request a refund
To request a refund, email support@smartkid.com from the email address associated with your SmartKid account. Please include your account email, the purchase or renewal date, and a short explanation of the issue.
We may ask for additional information to verify the account, understand the problem, or coordinate with Polar, our payment provider and Merchant of Record.
5. Access after a refund
If a subscription payment is refunded, access to paid features may be reduced, revoked, or allowed to continue for a limited period depending on the refund reason, subscription status, and technical billing state.
If you cancel without receiving a refund, you will generally keep paid access until the end of your current paid billing period.
6. Polar’s role
Payments are processed through Polar, our payment provider and Merchant of Record, and/or Polar’s payment partners. Refunds may be issued through Polar and may be subject to Polar’s processes, payment network rules, tax rules, fraud checks, and compliance requirements.
Polar may issue refunds on our behalf when required by law, payment network rules, fraud prevention, chargeback prevention, or Polar’s own policies. This may happen even when a request would otherwise fall outside SmartKid’s standard refund window.
7. Non-refundable situations
We may decline refunds for requests made after the 14-day window, accounts that show substantial or abusive use, violations of our Terms of Service, suspected fraud, or purchases that have already been refunded.
This does not limit any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.
8. Processing time
Approved refunds are submitted through Polar or the applicable payment processor. The time it takes for funds to appear on your statement depends on the payment method, card network, bank, and payment processor.
9. Contact
If you have questions about refunds or cancellations, contact support@smartkid.com.
